Allow me to begin by saying i do believe in freedom of speech and i do know words can hurt but their is a thin line between, fantasy, reality, and story telling. Music has no bounds and with that being said the younger generation are being brain washed, back in the day you had options between commercial and underground hip-hop... Today the bubblegum rap is the norm, and almost all conscious rap is a rare breed which is dying fast and is not being promoted...no one buys music anymore its just a download or click away. The radio plays the same crap all day everyday yet i cant blame them completely because the fans have something to do with this as well calling in requesting songs. Hey to each its own you wanna "Dougie" all day at your desk or car get it in, but can we please have a little variety i mean its a shame that the songs being played are the same format (b*tches & hoes, drinks, weed, how much money they got, and how their the greatest. Rap been a boast sport but can i get the a little knowledge rap? Can i get some stories to help the youth think twice about teen pregnancy or killing someone? Music does not kill people but it can influence these babies out here listening to this sh*t.... All I'm asking for is balance why doesn't the conscious rap get the same spins as all the other sh*t!! My ipod is not playing Lil Wayne back to back or Drizzy i got me some Gangstar, Matsta Ace, Boot Camp Clik, Wu-tang, Little Brother, Eminem, Jay-z, Lupe, Common to name a few in heavy rotation. Sex money and drugs, and now drama make for great entertainment thanks to reality tv all I'm saying is give us balance... Hip-Hop we love you in all shapes and sizes (East, West, North, South) variety is always good :)
